Community Foundation of Calhoun County - H.T. and Terrell Stanford Scholarship for OHS Students
The Community Foundation of Calhoun County has opened the H.T. and Terrell Stanford Scholarship again so that Oxford High School students can apply. Go to www.yourcommunityfirst.org and click on "Scholarships" to apply. The deadline is Wednesday, April 10, 2013. All other forms required for this scholarship are located in Ms. Knight's office.

Anniston Community Education Foundation 2013 Scholarship
The Anniston Community Education Foundation is again offering scholarships to graduates of Oxford High School, ranging in the amounts of $1,500 to $4,000. To be eligible, applicant must be a resident of Oxford, Anniston, Saks, or Wellborn communities; must be graduating seniors; must have at least a 2.0 GPA (or C average); must demonstrate community involvement; must demonstrate success or improvement in academics; and, must demonstrate a desire to attend college. Applicants may not be related to any Board of Directors or staff of ACEF. Applicants must also be willing to attend a scholarship orientation with the Anniston Community Education Foundation.

Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention Scholarship
The Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention is offering its Fourth Annual Scholarship Contest. Students must be graduating seniors who a cumulative 3.0 GPA (B average) who is planning to attend a two- or four-year college, or trade school upon graduation from high school. The Kiwanis Club of Oxford is again offering a $1,000 scholarship to three Oxford High School seniors who have demonstrated community service and leadership. Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
Applications are open for the Buick Achievers Scholarship. Applicants must be high-school seniors who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or university in 2013-2014 and who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design, or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an international public-service sorority that is comprised of over 250,000 predominately African-American women. American Federation of Government Employees - Charlotte G. Flowers Scholarship
The members of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 1945 are offering the AFGE Local 1945 Charlotte G. Flowers Scholarship. This scholarship is for members of AFGE Local 1945 and their children. Two scholarships in the amount of $1,250.00 will be awarded. On award will go to a member and one will be to the child of the member. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and to demonstrate the potential to become outstanding leaders in labor. This fund is established in honor of Charlotte G. Flowers who exemplified these qualities. Alabama Association of School Office Personnel Scholarship
The Alabama Association of School Office Personnel will award up to four (4) $1,000 scholarships to selected students pursuing a degree from the college of business or k-12 education. Each applicant must submit the application, along with all supporting documents requested. Applications are available in Ms. Knight's office and from OHS Business Education teachers. Applications must be received by March 29, 2013!
Gadsden State Community College "Southern Belle Dancers" Auditions
Gadsden State Community College's "Southern Belles" perform for campus events and community functions. Scholarships are provided for those who qualify. Auditions for the "Southern Belles" will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 13-14, 2013, in Wallace Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. The workshop/auditions will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. each day and will last approximately two hours. You will need to be prepared to learn a short routine that you will perform in a group for your audition. On Wednesday, any appropriate dance wear is preferred. The attire for the auditions on Thursday will be white shirt, black shorts, and white shoes. Each dancer will be judged separately on performance, showmanship, and attitude.
You will need to have three letters of recommendation that may be mailed directly to:

The Virgil G. Cotton Music Scholarship will be awarded to an Oxford High School senior who has been a musician with the Oxford High School Band. American Society of Civil Engineers Scholarship
The Birmingham Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is offering a scholarship to high-school seniors throughout Central Alabama. The scholarship is restricted to students who attend a civil engineering program at a university or college in Alabama that has been accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-Engineering Accreditation Commission (ABET-EAC).
Applicant must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; must enter college as a freshman after high-school graduation; must complete the application by the deadline and submit all the required information on the application form. Additional pages will not be considered. All applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by April 2, 2013! Applications are available in Ms. Knight's office or online at http://branches.asce.org/birmingham. Scholarship winner will be notified by May 4, 2013.

2013 Student-View Scholarship Program
The 2013 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $10,500 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. Simply log onto www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The winner will be announced in May 2013. Application deadline: April 21, 2013!

Academic Scholarships
These are awarded on a competitive basis; requires a 3.25 GPA; submission of ACT scores; full or partial tuition given.
Performing Arts Scholarships
These are awarded to students on the basis of portfolio/audition and include Art; Choir; Southern Belle; Show Band; Mascot; and, Theatre; must participate in prescribed activities; full or partial tuition given. Contact the Fine Arts Department at 256-549-8325 for further information.
Honors Scholar Scholarships
High School GPA of 85 or above recommended; 25 or above ACT required; top 15% of graduating class; full or partial tuition given. Honors Scholar and Gadsden State scholarship applications are required. Contact: Honors Program at 256-549-8279 or 256-549-8278.
Minority Scholarships
Priority will be given to African-American students enrolled in classes on the Valley Street Campus; requires a 2.5 GPA; full or partial tuition given. Contact the Scholarship Office at 256-549-8203.

Selection criteria include academic merit; club or activity participation; extracurricular activities; and an interview with the Ambassador Selection Committee. Full or partial tuition is given. The University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance Scholarship Auditions
The University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance invites all high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in Theatre to attend auditions for departmental scholarships and admission to the musical theatre track, as well as a portfolio review for design/tech students, on Saturday, January 26, 2013!
