Megan Meier Memorial Scholarship Fund (for students active in anti-bullying programs)

The Megan Meier Memorial Scholarship is for outstanding high school seniors who have shown a commitment to bettering their communities regarding all forms of bullying.  This Scholarship is for students who have succeeded both inside and outside the classroom and who may not be able to attend college without financial assistance.  It is a reward for the impact the student has had on his/her community and the difference the student has made in the lives of others.  The Megan Meier Memorial Scholarship Fund will select five seniors to receive $1,000 in scholarship funds to put toward their college education.  Eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Student must be a full time senior in high school.
  • Student must have a minimum 2.50 GPA.
  • Student must have a written recommendation from a member of the school faculty or staff that serves as validation that the applicant's words and actions promote an environment of acceptance and tolerance of differences within the school community.
  • Student must submit, along with the application a one- to two-page essay describing how his/her accomplishments relate to the mission of the Megan Meier Foundation; list all extracurricular activities participated in during high school, both within and outside the school; describe ways the student has proactively helped to lessen all forms of bullying within the school community; list professional goals after graduation from college; describe why student feels he/she deserves this scholarship; and list any special circumstances the student would like the Scholarship Committee to consider when reviewing his/her application.
